When officers arrived at the victim’s home, something didn’t add up. The car was still there — but the person wasn’t.
Then came the break.
Roughly a mile away, investigators found the victim’s damaged smartwatch lying in the street, likely torn off during a violent confrontation. The discovery shifted the case instantly from a welfare check to a suspected abduction.

Two suspects, Siquaya F. Smith, 37, and Louis G. Cadet, 40, were taken into custody on the spot.
Investigators believe the pair targeted the victim, forcing them into a vehicle outside their home and later trying to pressure them into transferring $25,000.
The victim suffered serious injuries, including broken ribs and a head wound, but survived the ordeal and was later released from the hospital.
The suspects now face a slate of charges, including kidnapping, robbery, assault, and weapons offenses.
