AR-style rifles, loaded mags seized in Baltimore gun arrest after shots fired

BALTIMORE, MD — A reported shooting in the city’s Northern District led officers to a pair of suspects and a cache of loaded firearms, including AR-style rifles and extended magazines, police said.

Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the 2400 block of West Cold Spring Lane after receiving a call about gunfire. On arrival, they discovered a vehicle with visible bullet hole damage and collected shell casings at the scene.

An investigation by Northern Patrol officers and detectives from the Baltimore City Intelligence Center led to two suspects — a 27-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman — who were arrested and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility for processing.

Authorities executed a search warrant on the suspects’ home and vehicle, recovering a large number of weapons and ammunition. Among the seized items were a Colt .22 caliber AR-style firearm with a 30-round extended magazine, a Bushmaster XM15-E2S AR-15 rifle loaded with .223 rounds, and several high-capacity magazines and loose ammunition.

Additional items recovered included two laser sights, a Glock-style BB gun, and a 50-round box of 9mm ammo, police said. No injuries were reported in connection with the original shots-fired call.

The investigation remains ongoing.
