Washington, DC — A weekend robbery in an underground garage off Van Ness Street NW left investigators searching for a lone suspect who, according to updated information, was armed with a handgun when he confronted the victim shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The incident happened in the 3000 block of Van Ness Street NW, where the suspect was last seen on foot inside the garage before disappearing in an unknown direction. The crime alert described the suspect as a Black male, approximately 20 to 25 years old, about 5-foot-10 with a slim build, wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a single earring.

Officers from the 2nd District responded to the robbery and circulated the updated lookout after learning the suspect was armed. No further details were released about injuries, property taken, or whether investigators believe the suspect may be linked to other recent robberies.
