ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Atlantic City is facing a homeless crisis, with dozens of homeless individuals seeking refuge in and around the boardwalk area. This week multiple agencies and Civic groups within Atlantic City and Atlantic County teamed up to provide much-needed services to those individuals.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office accompanied Jewish Family Services, Atlantic City Police Department, Veterans Affairs, Atlantic Cape May County Probation, and Hope One to provide resources and offer services to the unhoused and needy population at the Atlantic City Boardwalk on Friday.
“Jewish Family Service was able to help over 20 displaced individuals during this outreach event. Additionally, the collective group was able to link five individuals for treatment through Hope One,” the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. “JFS was able to engage with numerous individuals and scheduled follow-up sessions with numerous consumers.”
Officers from the Atlantic County prosecutor’s office assisted by providing food and beverages and a reusable bag to each individual encountered during the outreach operation.
“Jewish Family Services and all other community partners that were present this morning are committed to servicing all populations throughout Atlantic County. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is working with numerous additional municipalities to address challenges and provide resources and support to the unhoused populations. We look forward to working with everyone,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
