Attempted Vehicle Theft Reported in Cranford on Independence Day

CRANFORD, NJ – On Tuesday, at 8:15 PM, patrol units were dispatched to a Sylvester Street address following a report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. The Cranford Police Department stated that two masked individuals tried to break into a 2021 BMW.

Alerted by a resident of the house, the suspects fled the scene in a 2019 white Maserati, believed to be stolen from Lincoln Park.

The Cranford Police Department has heightened patrol operations during targeted hours and is urging residents to ensure the security of their vehicles and homes. Suspicious activities can be reported to the department at 908-272-2222.
