Bloodshed on Reisterstown Road leaves two men wounded as gunman vanishes

BALTIMORE, Md. — Gunfire tore through a Northwest Baltimore corridor Wednesday night, leaving two men hospitalized and sending one victim fleeing the scene in a desperate drive for help as detectives searched for whoever pulled the trigger.

Patrol officers responded around 9:18 p.m. Wednesday to the 3400 block of Reisterstown Road after reports of a shooting, according to Baltimore Police.

When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. Police have not released details about his condition.

Investigators later learned a second victim had left the scene after the shooting. Police said a 38-year-old man drove from the 3400 block of Reisterstown Road to the 2400 block of Dukeland Street after suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The second victim was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Detectives believe both men were wounded during the same shooting incident Wednesday night.
