A Suffolk County man who pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and rape charges involving multiple victims, including a child, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
A Bay Shore man convicted of sex trafficking and rape-related offenses involving multiple victims has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced.
Danny St. Louis, 45, received the sentence Tuesday after pleading guilty in May to several felony charges, including rape in the second degree, sex trafficking, and attempted sex trafficking. In addition to the prison term, he was ordered to serve 10 years of post-release supervision and must register as a sex offender.
According to prosecutors, the case involved multiple female victims over a period spanning 2023 and 2024, including a 13-year-old girl.
Prosecutors detailed allegations involving child victim
Court records state that St. Louis met the child through a mutual acquaintance in early 2023 and provided her with illegal drugs. Prosecutors said he later sexually abused the victim on three occasions.
Authorities alleged that he continued communicating with the girl and introduced her to additional narcotics. The investigation continued until October 2023, when police located the victim in a hotel room with St. Louis after she had left a residential treatment facility.
“If you prey on vulnerable women and children in Suffolk County, you will be investigated, prosecuted, and held accountable,” District Attorney Tierney said in a statement.
“This defendant will now spend many years in prison, unable to harm another victim,” he added.
Investigation involved additional victims
Prosecutors said that between March 2023 and March 2024, St. Louis profited from the prostitution of two additional women. Authorities alleged that he used drugs as a means of maintaining control over those victims.
Investigators also described an incident involving a 20-year-old woman who met St. Louis at a hotel in Hauppauge in March 2024.
According to court documents, the woman remained with St. Louis for two days, leading her family to file a missing person report. Prosecutors alleged that he later sexually assaulted her and discussed plans to profit from her exploitation.
Arrest followed undercover investigation
The woman was able to leave the hotel and contact her family, according to prosecutors.
On March 14, 2024, authorities arrested St. Louis after he allegedly agreed to provide a buyer with sex from one of the trafficked victims and illegal drugs in exchange for money.
Tierney credited law enforcement investigators and prosecutors assigned to the Human Trafficking, Elder Abuse, Anti-Bias Team (HEAT) Unit for their work on the case.
St. Louis pleaded guilty before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei to three counts of rape in the second degree, two counts of sex trafficking, and one count of attempted sex trafficking.
