QUEENS, NY — A Brooklyn man has been indicted for murder after a road rage altercation escalated into a fatal collision that left a Breezy Point resident dead six months later, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced.
Malcolm Anglin, 32, was arraigned this week on charges of second-degree murder, leaving the scene of an incident causing death, and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges stem from a May 13, 2024, incident in which Anglin allegedly used his vehicle as a weapon to strike 55-year-old Thomas McDade in a Breezy Point parking lot following a dispute that began on the Belt Parkway.
McDade succumbed to his injuries on November 16, 2024, after suffering traumatic brain injuries from the impact. The New York City Medical Examiner ruled the death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
According to the indictment, the road rage incident began around 5 p.m. when Anglin, driving a gray Honda CRV, got into an altercation with McDade, who was behind the wheel of a green Subaru SUV. Anglin allegedly drove onto the grass along the Belt Parkway, overtook McDade’s car, and blocked traffic on Exit 11S. Both men exited their vehicles and exchanged words before continuing in separate directions.

Suspect fled, then surrendered after NYPD recovered vehicle
Anglin reportedly followed McDade across the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge into Breezy Point. At approximately 5:08 p.m., McDade exited his vehicle in a parking lot at Beach 208th Street and Rockaway Point Boulevard. Prosecutors allege Anglin accelerated toward McDade, struck him with his SUV, and fled the scene.
McDade was hospitalized with severe head injuries and placed on a ventilator before passing away in November. Anglin’s damaged vehicle was recovered later that night at his Brooklyn residence. He surrendered to police on June 19, 2024.
Anglin, previously indicted on attempted murder and assault charges, now faces upgraded charges following McDade’s death. He is being held on $5 million cash bail and is scheduled to return to court on June 17.
