BOSTON, MA – A late-night shooting in Allston has left one man dead and prompted an active homicide investigation, after officers responded to a call just before midnight Friday and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence.
The incident unfolded at approximately 10:27 p.m. Friday, when officers assigned to District D-14 in Brighton were dispatched to 20 Rugg Road for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim inside the location with what was described as an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Active homicide investigation underway
The Boston Police Department Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officials have not released additional details about a suspect or motive as of Saturday.

Officials noted that photos and videos related to the case may also be submitted anonymously, and identities of tipsters will be protected.
