Bronx player bags $100K Powerball win at corner store

Bronx Powerball player wins $100K with Power Play ticket sold at Chois Stationary

Bronx, NY — A lucky Powerball player in the Bronx is celebrating a six-figure win after purchasing a third-prize-winning ticket with Power Play worth $100,000 for the December 6 drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Chois Stationary, located at 5644 Riverdale Avenue in the Bronx. The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball, earning a $50,000 prize — which was doubled to $100,000 thanks to the player selecting the Power Play option.

The Powerball drawing is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., with numbers drawn from a field of 1 to 69 and the red Powerball from 1 to 26. Power Play, a $1 add-on feature, multiplies non-jackpot winnings up to 10 times depending on the multiplier drawn.

The winner has one year from the date of the drawing to claim the prize. The New York Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their ticket and contact them to begin the claims process.

The New York Lottery continues to be the most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.6 billion in fiscal year 2024–2025 to support public education throughout the state.
