Gunman storms Brooklyn apartment lobby and robs man at gunpoint before vanishing into night

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who allegedly pulled a gun on a man inside the lobby of a Brooklyn residential building before stealing cash and fleeing on foot.

The robbery happened Monday, May 4, around 8:15 p.m. near Gates Avenue and Throop Avenue, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers.

Investigators said the unidentified suspect entered the building lobby and approached a 25-year-old man.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly displayed a firearm and demanded property from the victim.

Police said the robber took approximately $40 in cash before fleeing the area on foot.

The suspect disappeared before officers arrived and has not yet been identified.

Detectives are continuing to review evidence and search for surveillance footage connected to the robbery.
