Bucks County firearms dealer charged with illegally supplying guns to felon

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Bucks County firearms dealer has been charged with illegally transferring guns to a convicted felon, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced.

Scott Liebowitz, 31, of Feasterville-Trevose, is accused of conspiring to provide firearms to Nicholas Mimoso, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing guns. Liebowitz, a licensed firearms dealer, allegedly used a third party to complete the documented purchase before physically handing the weapons to Mimoso.

The charges stem from a months-long investigation by the Philadelphia Gun Violence Task Force, which uncovered the illegal transfers. Liebowitz faces charges including two counts of violating the Uniform Firearms Act, conspiracy, corrupt organizations, and unlawful use of a communication facility.

“This is another example of the excellent collaborative work being done by our Philadelphia Gun Violence Task Force,” Attorney General Sunday said. “In the past year, the Gun Violence Task Force has seized hundreds of illegally possessed and transferred firearms.”

Liebowitz and Mimoso were arraigned last week, with bail set at $100,000 for Liebowitz and $275,000 for Mimoso, who remains incarcerated. Mimoso was previously charged in March 2024 with drug and firearms trafficking, during which investigators recovered 11 firearms and two illegal switches.
