Campbell store sells $50K Powerball ticket as small-town player hits big
CAMPBELL, NY – A routine visit to a Steuben County mini mart turned into a $50,000 windfall for one lucky Powerball player who matched four white balls and the red Power Ball in the December 10 drawing.
The ticket was purchased at Campbell Mini Mart, located at 8488 Main Street in the town of Campbell, about 80 miles south of Rochester. The third-tier prize winner came within a single number of hitting the jackpot, which continues to grow without a top-prize winner.
The Powerball numbers are drawn from a pool of 69 for the white balls and a separate pool of 26 for the red Power Ball. Drawings take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings and are broadcast live at 10:59 p.m.
Campbell’s big win is one of many recent payouts across New York as lottery fever grips the state. While the jackpot remains elusive, non-jackpot wins like this $50,000 prize are increasingly common as more players chase high-dollar dreams.
