Car Crash, Road Road Leads to Three Men Shot in Philadelphia, One Dead

PHILADELPHIA, PA – On Saturday, June 1, officers from the 12th District responded to a call for a “Person with a gun” at 24xx S. 62nd Street at 11:03 PM. Upon their arrival, police discovered three men shot, following an altercation that escalated after a car accident.

The first victim, a 21-year-old male, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center at 11:25 PM. A second 22-year-old male, shot in the buttocks, is currently stable.

The third, another 22-year-old, sustained severe injuries with gunshot wounds to the chest and arm and remains in critical condition.

The incident escalated into violence after an auto accident involving the suspect and the victims. A male suspect is now in custody in connection with the shooting.

The investigation is being handled by the Homicide Unit, and further updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
