Small-town fuel station sells winning ticket in May 30 drawing
CHATHAM, N.J. — A quiet New Jersey borough saw unexpected lottery excitement after a Powerball ticket sold at a local fuel station matched third-prize numbers in the May 30 drawing, earning a $50,000 payout.
The New York Lottery said one of two third-prize-winning tickets was sold at CHATHAM GETTY, located at 123 S. Hudson St. in Chatham.
The ticket is worth $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., with numbers drawn from a pool of one through 69 and a separate red Powerball number from one through 26.
The New York Lottery contributes billions annually to New York public schools and remains the largest lottery in North America, reporting $3.6 billion in contributions for fiscal year 2024–2025.
