Child Abduction Suspect Dies in Crash While Fleeing Police in New York City

A man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl met a deadly end during a high-speed police chase in Queens Village on Friday afternoon. The pursuit began around 12:30 p.m. after officers identified the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to stop him.

The chase ended in a violent collision near 90th Avenue and 212th Street, where the suspect’s car, a brown Honda Civic sedan, crashed into a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The collision created a chaotic scene in the normally quiet neighborhood. The driver of the Jeep, who was unharmed, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported the suspect to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The incident brings a dramatic and tragic conclusion to a case that has shocked the Queens community.

Earlier reports detailed the disturbing events leading up to the chase. On Thursday evening, a man abducted a 9-year-old girl near 213th Street and Jamaica Avenue in Queens. According to the NYPD, the suspect, who was driving a brown Honda Civic, lured the girl into his vehicle, where he forced her to perform a lewd act before returning her to the original location and fleeing.

The suspect was described as having a dark complexion and a heavy build, and was last seen wearing a blue MTA hat, clear glasses, a pink shirt, and blue jeans. The NYPD had launched an intensive manhunt, reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing the area in an effort to locate him.

“This is a deeply disturbing case, and we are doing everything we can to apprehend the individual responsible,” the NYPD said in a statement before the chase that led to the suspect’s death.

The young victim was taken to a local hospital following the assault, where she is receiving treatment. Her condition has not been disclosed.

The NYPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding both the abduction and the fatal crash.
