Man knocked unconscious and robbed outside vehicle in late-night Columbus attack
COLUMBUS, OH – A man was brutally attacked and robbed just before midnight on October 24 while getting into his car on the city’s east side, and police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects responsible.
The incident happened at approximately 11:56 p.m. in the 3800 block of East Livingston Avenue. According to investigators, the victim was preparing to enter his vehicle when two suspects suddenly ran up behind him and began punching him in the head, knocking him unconscious.
After the victim collapsed, the suspects rifled through his pockets and stole personal items along with his backpack. They then fled the scene in a blue SUV.

The condition of the victim following the assault has not been released, but police say he did regain consciousness. No weapons were reported in the robbery.
The Columbus Division of Police has not identified the suspects but is reviewing surveillance in the area. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Schiering directly or reach out anonymously to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.
