WASHINGTON, D.C. – DC police are hunting for a burglary suspect caught on surveillance cameras after money was stolen from a cash register at a Rhode Island Avenue business before dawn, authorities announced Wednesday.
The burglary happened at approximately 4:45 a.m. Aug. 24 in the 600 block of Rhode Island Avenue NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Police said the suspect entered the establishment, took money from a cash register and fled before officers arrived.
MPD has now released a surveillance image of the person investigators are trying to identify. Police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in a crime committed in the District.
