Cumberland assault arrest follows fight that left victim injured

Police say man suffered facial injuries during altercation on Yale Street

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A Cumberland man was arrested Thursday night after police said he assaulted another person during an altercation that left the victim with facial injuries.

Officers responded around 7:40 p.m. Thursday to the 800 block of Yale Street for reports of an assault, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

Investigators said officers spoke with the parties involved and determined that 32-year-old Dylan Michael Werner assaulted the victim during the incident.

Police said the victim suffered minor facial injuries.

Werner was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking.

Following a hearing before a District Court commissioner, Werner was released on an unsecured $1,000 bond.
