DC cops bust two in booze-fueled burglary on T Street

Two men arrested after breaking into NW DC business and stealing alcohol

WASHINGTON, DC – Two men were taken into custody early Sunday after they allegedly broke into a Northwest business and stole several bottles of alcohol before fleeing on foot.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight Saturday in the 600 block of T Street, Northwest. According to police, the suspects forced their way into the commercial property and grabbed multiple bottles of liquor before leaving the scene.

Officers later located the suspects a few hours later in the 600 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest—just a few blocks from the burglary location. The men, identified as 32-year-old Thomas Junior Lane and 58-year-old Houston Phillips, were both arrested without incident.

Neither Lane nor Phillips has a fixed address, according to police. Both were charged with Burglary Two in connection with the break-in. No injuries were reported, and police did not release the name of the business targeted.

The case remains under investigation.
