Pedestrian killed in New Castle crash identified as 71-year-old local man

New Castle, DE — A man struck and killed in a pedestrian crash earlier this week has now been identified as investigators continue working to determine what led to the collision.

Delaware State Police said the victim was 71-year-old William Thomas Jr. of New Castle. The fatal crash occurred Wednesday night, though details about the circumstances of the collision have not been released.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or may have video footage to come forward as the investigation remains active.
