PRINCETON, NJ – A juvenile remains in critical condition following a head-on collision Thursday night that left two people injured and led to DWI charges against a Manalapan woman.
The crash happened around 9:37 p.m. on South Harrison Street, just north of Carnegie Lake, according to Princeton Police.
Investigators say a 2021 Hyundai Elantra crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2017 Honda Accord head-on.

Police say Hyundai crossed center line
According to investigators, the Elantra, driven by 33-year-old Nicolette Czajkowski of Manalapan, veered over the center line before colliding with the oncoming Honda. The Honda’s driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while a juvenile passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Prosecutor’s team assisting in probe
Due to the crash’s severity, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team assisted at the scene. Police said Czajkowski was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, along with several motor vehicle offenses, including reckless and careless driving. Additional charges are pending.
Road closed for hours as investigators worked
Authorities closed South Harrison Street for approximately three hours while collecting evidence. Police have not released the names of the Honda’s occupants, citing privacy reasons. The investigation remains ongoing.
