STAFFORD, Va. — A 33-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested Sunday morning after causing a crash on Warrenton Road while allegedly driving under the influence and without a valid license, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on December 8, when deputies responded to a collision involving a Volvo and a Toyota near the intersection of Warrenton Road and the exit ramp for northbound I-95. Authorities said the Volvo had the green light while exiting the interstate when the Toyota, driven by the suspect, entered the intersection. The Volvo driver attempted to avoid the collision by braking but was unable to do so.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, deputies noted signs of intoxication in the Toyota driver, who admitted to consuming “seven beers” before getting behind the wheel. Further investigation revealed 24 open beer bottles in the back seat of his vehicle, with only two unopened.
The driver, who also lacked a valid license, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. He was transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
