Dui crash ends with overturned jeep, driver jailed

A Stafford County man was arrested for driving under the influence after overturning his Jeep on Richmond Highway near Twin Brook Lane Tuesday evening, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to the crash at approximately 6:37 p.m. on May 6 and found a white Jeep flipped over. The roadway was temporarily shut down as emergency personnel arrived at the scene. The driver, who sustained only minor injuries, showed visible signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming two shots of vodka before the crash.

After being evaluated by EMS, the driver underwent field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested. He was charged with DUI with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2 and transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was held on a $5,000 secured bond.
