NEW YORK, NY — Eric Nunez, 43, faces charges for the fatal shooting of Antonio Felder in East Harlem, according to a recent indictment by the New York State Supreme Court. Nunez is charged with one count of Murder in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

On the night of July 22, at around 11:24 p.m., Antonio Felder, 55, approached Nunez on a motor scooter at the corner of East 118th Street and Lexington Avenue. Following a brief exchange, Felder attempted to back away on his scooter when Nunez allegedly fired at least ten shots from a handgun. Felder sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital at 11:51 p.m.

District Attorney Bragg emphasized the impact of gun violence in Manhattan, noting a 23 percent decrease in shootings this year. However, he acknowledged the tragedy of Felder’s death, one among 174 shooting incidents in the borough.
