Elderly New York City Woman Robbed Through Deception in Queens

NEW YORK, NY—A disturbing robbery targeting a 73-year-old woman occurred on Friday, May 17, at approximately 1:17 PM, at the intersection of Kneeland Avenue and Gorsline Street. The New York City Police Department is seeking assistance in locating a suspect involved in this cunning theft.

An unidentified female approached the elderly victim under the guise of a casual conversation.

She placed jewelry on the victim, distracting her while swiftly removing the victim’s own necklace and bracelet, collectively valued at approximately $2,250. The suspect then fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Equinox heading northbound on Gorsline Street.

The suspect is described as a female with a light complexion, last observed wearing a gray sweater and blue skirt, carrying a brown bag. Thankfully, no physical injuries were reported, but the incident has raised concerns about the safety of vulnerable individuals in public spaces.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle to come forward to aid in the investigation and prevent further incidents.
