False 911 call in Fairfax County leads to violent ambush, leaving one officer stabbed and a teen under arrest

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A routine police response in Fair Lakes turned violent Monday afternoon when a 16-year-old boy, who had falsely called 911, stabbed a Fairfax County police officer, authorities said.

The incident unfolded in the 12800 block of Fair Lakes Parkway after officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. According to Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis, the 911 call was made by the suspect himself, who provided false information to dispatch.

Upon arrival, officers saw the teenager sprinting directly toward an unattended police cruiser with its engine running and the driver’s door unlocked. As two officers moved to intercept him, the teen pulled out a knife and began swinging, stabbing one officer in the torso.

Despite the sudden attack, the officers managed to subdue and arrest the teenager. The injured officer, a six-year veteran of the force, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
