Feds arrest agitators for trashing property and menacing agents

OMAHA, Neb. — Four individuals were arrested Wednesday after being caught on camera damaging federal property and threatening federal agents during a protest in response to a recent immigration enforcement operation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced.

The protest followed a June 10 federal search at Glenn Valley Foods targeting individuals suspected of using stolen or fraudulent identities to gain employment. ICE said the operation aimed to hold accountable those who victimized individuals and businesses by working in the U.S. illegally.

ICE officials stated the protesters escalated beyond lawful demonstration, engaging in aggressive behavior including threats toward agents and physical damage to government property. The four arrested now face federal felony charges, including assaulting and impeding federal officers and destruction of federal property.

The arrests were made by ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with support from the FBI, ATF, and the Nebraska DMV Fraud Unit.

Federal response to protest continues

The agency said the investigation remains active as authorities seek additional individuals believed to be involved in the violence.

Officials reiterated support for constitutionally protected peaceful protest but emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for threats or violence directed at law enforcement personnel.

The arrests come amid heightened scrutiny of immigration enforcement tactics nationwide, with federal agencies asserting their operations are focused on identity fraud and public safety threats.
