TOMS RIVER, NJ – There are few details being released at this time by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office as a possible murder investigation is underway in Toms River.

According to Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer, a man, with multiple gunshot wounds was dropped off at Community Medical Center and abandoned. That man later died from his injuries.

On Thursday, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Toms River Township Police Officers responded to Community Medical Center for a report of an unresponsive male victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim – identified as Jimmy Mosley, 36, of South Toms River – succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

“An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, revealed that Mr. Mosley was dropped off at the hospital in a vehicle and the driver of the vehicle then left the scene.  A passenger in the vehicle also left the scene on foot,” said Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Spokesperson Bryan Huntenburg.

“Prosecutor Billhimer and Chief Little wish to emphasize that this is an active and ongoing investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.  There is no known danger to the public at this time,” the prosecutor’s office said in a release.
