WASHINGTON, DC — A midday eruption of gunfire along Mount Olivet Road left one man dead and three others wounded Monday in Northeast D.C.
Shortly after 12 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road following reports of a shooting. Responders found three men with gunshot injuries. All were transported to a nearby hospital, where one of the victims, identified as 31-year-old Breon Quick of Northeast DC, was pronounced dead.
Two other male victims are being treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening. A fourth victim, an adult woman, arrived separately at a hospital also suffering from a gunshot wound and is in stable condition.
The shooting occurred in broad daylight near residential buildings and commercial spaces, sparking concern among area residents. The location, just east of Gallaudet University, has seen previous instances of violent crime.
Investigators have not yet disclosed any information regarding potential suspects or motive. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
