Four suspects nabbed as sweeping burglary ring uncovered in Hunterdon County

Burglary ring spanning multiple towns smashed after four suspects arrested in Hunterdon County

Readington, NJ — A months-long investigation into a string of break-ins across Hunterdon County ended with the arrests of four suspects, after detectives uncovered stockpiles of stolen property and an assortment of illegal firearms inside several homes linked to the burglary crew.

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson and Readington Township Police Chief Steven Rindock said the joint investigation began earlier this month, following a year of reported burglaries across the region. The coordinated effort led to charges against Antonios D. Siliverdis, 45, of Franklin Township; Gavin R. Mitchell, 26, of Frenchtown; Gabriel C. Tullo‑McVicar, 27, of Glen Gardner; and Emily F. Cerullo, 25, also of Glen Gardner.

Detectives executed multiple search warrants tied to the suspects and recovered a wide collection of weapons, including a double‑barreled sawed-off shotgun, a Marlin/Glenfield .22 rifle with a defaced serial number, a Beretta shotgun, several magazines capable of holding 17 rounds, a pellet long gun, compound bows, longbows, and various ammunition. Stolen valuables — ranging from gold bars, antique jewelry and sterling silver flatware to ATV equipment, sports memorabilia, power tools, coins and Native American artifacts — were also seized.

Mitchell, identified in connection with an April 2024 burglary, faces second‑degree theft and trafficking charges, along with counts of criminal mischief and third‑degree theft. He appeared Monday before Judge Christopher J. Garrenger.

Siliverdis faces charges including third-degree receiving stolen property, burglary, theft and two fourth‑degree weapons offenses. His initial court date is set for December 1.

Tullo‑McVicar faces some of the most serious allegations, including unlawfully possessing four handguns, ten rifles and shotguns, two spring pistols, a sawed‑off shotgun, a defaced firearm, hollow‑nose bullets and a large‑capacity magazine. He remains held at the Warren County Jail and is scheduled for a December 8 hearing.

Cerullo was charged with third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary and is also scheduled for a December 1 court appearance.

The State is represented by Senior Assistant Prosecutor Tangerla Thomas. The investigation received assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police Kingwood Station, Lebanon Township Police and Delaware Township Police.

Authorities said anyone with information about the case may contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office at (908) 788‑1129 or reach Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑321‑0010.
