Four wall township police officers embark on annual police unity tour

WALL TWP, NJ – Four Wall Township police officers embarked on a four-day bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington, D.C. today, as they joined the annual Police Unity Tour. The event, which kicked off this morning from Belmar, aims to raise awareness of law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty while also raising funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum.

The four officers from Wall Township, New Jersey, will join other participants from across the country to pedal their way through Maryland, Delaware, and finally, to the nation’s capital in honor of their fallen colleagues. The journey is both a physical challenge and a tribute to the bravery of the men and women who serve as law enforcement officers.

Chief O’Halloran of the Wall Township police department saw the officers off this morning as they embarked on their journey. He expressed pride in his officers for participating in such an important event, which serves as a reminder of the sacrifices that officers make to keep their communities safe.

The Police Unity Tour has been held annually since 1997, and participants have raised millions of dollars to support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum. The memorial and museum honor the more than 22,000 officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities.
