NEW YORK, NY – Since March of 2020, children have been forced to wear facemasks in schools all across America, some for up to 8 hours per day or more. Now, New York Governor Kathy Hochul is saying it’s not a big deal and plans on extending that mask mandate well into 2022.
“We do hope that everyone really comes around and realizes this is a simple very minor uh intrusion,” Hochul said. “If you will, if it’s that even that all the children in the state have been wearing masks since the beginning, it’s not that big a deal. It’ll help save lives, keep people healthy and that’s all we’re asking for. So there has been some pushback but we’re not backing down from this we think it’s important.”
