Psychedelic nightmare as Greensburg woman charged in child endangerment case
Greensburg, PA — A Greensburg woman is facing multiple criminal charges after investigators said she gave psychedelic mushrooms to children and allowed them to hang out of the windows of a moving vehicle, placing their lives at risk.
Christa Kuhns, 35, was charged with endangering the welfare of children, drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a months-long investigation by the Greensburg Police Department. Detectives became involved in April after Children and Youth Services raised concerns during an ongoing case involving minors.
The investigation uncovered a Snapchat video showing several children sitting on door frames and leaning out of the windows of a moving vehicle while Kuhns was allegedly driving. Subsequent interviews with the minors revealed that the incident followed a camping trip in 2024, where Kuhns allegedly offered psychedelic mushrooms to multiple children.
According to investigators, the children described the mushrooms as white and bitter and said they felt delusional after ingesting them. Despite their condition, the minors were allegedly permitted to sit partially outside the vehicle while it was in motion.
A search warrant executed at Kuhns’s residence on Oconell Way in Greensburg resulted in the seizure of a firearm with three loaded magazines, a bag containing mushroom residue later confirmed to be psilocyn, marijuana pipes, and three THC vape devices.
The case remains active and pending in Westmoreland County. All charges are accusations, and Kuhns is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
