October 3, 2024

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – An incident involving the possession of an open container of alcohol resulted in a charge against Edgar A. Quinatoa-Solis of Independence Township. The 66-year-old man was apprehended by Hackettstown police on Tuesday at 7:21 p.m.

The event took place at ShopRite Wines & Spirits, located at 80 Main Street. According to reports, a police officer in an unmarked vehicle noticed Quinatoa-Solis exiting the store. After returning to his car, he poured out some Coca-Cola from a 20-ounce bottle and replaced it with Jack Daniel’s Whiskey from an airplane-sized bottle.

Quinatoa-Solis was attempting to start his vehicle just as the officer approached. Following this, the police charged him with possession of an open container of alcohol. He was subsequently released, with a court appearance pending.

This case reflects Hackettstown’s ongoing efforts to enforce laws related to alcohol consumption and possession. Residents and visitors are reminded of the legal obligations regarding open containers in vehicles in the area.
