Hell’s Kitchen robbery leaves 53-year-old man beaten, stripped of valuables

New York, NY – A late-night robbery in Hell’s Kitchen turned violent when a 53-year-old man was attacked from behind, beaten, and stripped of his belongings, including thousands of dollars in cash, according to the NYPD.

The incident unfolded Monday at approximately 10:10 p.m. near West 52nd Street and Ninth Avenue. Police said two unidentified individuals approached the victim from behind, forced him to the ground, and repeatedly struck him in the face before taking multiple personal items.

“WANTED FOR ROBBERY: On Monday, March 23, 2026, at approximately 10:10 P.M., in the vicinity of 52 Street and 9 Avenue, a 53-year-old male victim was approached by two unidentified individuals from behind,” the NYPD Crimestoppers account stated. “The unidentified individuals threw the victim to the ground and proceeded to strike him in the face with fists.”

Suspects flee with cash and personal items

According to police, the suspects removed the victim’s pants and stole his cellphone, Rolex watch, keys, and approximately $4,000 in cash before fleeing the scene. Authorities said the pair ran eastbound along Ninth Avenue and remain at large.

“The unidentified individuals then removed the victim’s pants, cellphone, Rolex watch, keys, and $4000 cash,” the statement said. “The individuals then fled eastbound on 9th Avenue to parts unknown.”

No arrests have been made, and descriptions of the suspects have not been released.

Public urged to provide tips

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying the individuals involved. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782),” the agency said. “The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/, or on X @NYPDTips”

Investigators have not released information on the victim’s condition.
