Howard County man wins third major lottery jackpot

June 26, 2025

MOUNT AIRY, Md. — A Howard County man has scored his third significant Maryland Lottery prize after winning $30,000 on a Keno ticket purchased on June 23.

The retired player, who frequently participates in the Lottery’s second-chance My Lottery Rewards program, previously won $100,000 in 2021 and $50,000 in 2022 from scratch-off tickets. His latest Keno win is his third-highest payout to date.

The longtime player said his prize money will head straight to the bank, just like his earlier wins. “I worked pretty hard all my life, and when I retired, I retired,” he said. He added that most of his time now is spent maintaining his home and garden without any pressing obligations.

The winning Keno ticket was purchased at Anita’s Liquors, located at 1408 South Main Street in Mount Airy. The Frederick County retailer will receive a $300 bonus for selling the ticket.

Veteran player adds to history of Lottery success

The man has also won multiple second-chance promotions through the Maryland Lottery over the years. Despite his streak of success, he described his approach simply: “I enjoy playing the Lottery.”

His continued participation in a variety of games has made him one of the more successful repeat winners in recent years.
