Illegal alien arrested in Ocean County on child sexual assault charges

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A man identified as 35-year-old Armando Chuluc Ajcivinac has been arrested and charged in Ocean County on multiple counts of sexual assault involving a child under the age of 13, according to jail and court records.

Authorities say Ajcivinac, who is currently being held without bail, is also the subject of a federal immigration detainer issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Ajcivinac was booked into the Ocean County Jail on Tuesday, February 3, following his arrest on two felony charges — aggravated sexual assault of a victim younger than 13, and sexual assault involving a child older than 4 years. Both offenses fall under New Jersey criminal code sections 2C:14-2A(1) and 2C:14-2B, respectively, and carry severe penalties if convicted.

Immigration authorities have lodged a detainer, meaning he could be transferred to federal custody upon completion of any state proceedings.

Officials have not released further details regarding the alleged victim or the circumstances leading to the arrest, citing privacy laws protecting minors in sexual assault cases. A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said the investigation remains active and additional charges could be filed.
