Intoxicated man assaulted woman during domestic argument on Bank Street

A Wilkes-Barre man is in custody after an early-morning domestic dispute turned violent.

WILKES-BARRE, PA — A 43-year-old city man was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly striking a woman multiple times during a domestic dispute at a residence on Bank Street, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the scene around 2:21 a.m. following a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they made contact with a 38-year-old female victim who reported that Junior Ermilus had arrived at her residence intoxicated, leading to a verbal altercation.

According to police, the situation escalated when Ermilus allegedly “wrestled” the victim before hitting her several times in the face. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed.

Ermilus, a Wilkes-Barre resident, was taken into custody at the scene without further incident. He was then transported to Wilkes-Barre City Police Headquarters for processing and arraignment.
