Jackson council hopeful Chris Pollak rips police then shows up at their barbecue

JACKSON, NJ – Council candidate Chris Pollak is facing questions after resurfaced podcast comments show him blasting local police just weeks before joining them at a public event.

The former self-styled superhero vigilante turned political hopeful told the “We Are Libertarians” podcast that Jackson’s problems stemmed partly from the government and partly from residents themselves.

But Pollak didn’t stop there. “I don’t think they’re doing anything,” he said, referring to the police in a video published shortly before he announced his campaign.

The remarks are drawing new attention after Pollak was seen Saturday at the Jackson Police Benevolent Association’s annual Pig Roast 168, where he spent much of his time seated with former Mayor Michael Reina.

Comments ignite local stir

The resurfaced interview has circulated on social media among Jackson residents, with several calling out the apparent contradiction between Pollak’s criticism and his public appearance at the police event. Others defended his right to question local leadership while still engaging with the community.

Reina, who shared the table with Pollak at Saturday’s event, did not address their conversation, though the two were photographed together by attendees.

Pollak has since confirmed the legitimacy of his comments but claimed he was talking about the NYPD, not Jackson in that March published video.
