JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Hudson County jury has convicted Omire Rios-Williams in connection with a 2021 double fatal shooting that left two men dead and four others wounded in Jersey City, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced Monday.

Rios-Williams, 23, of Jersey City, was found guilty of two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, four counts of attempted murder, four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

His codefendant, Cooleone McNeil, 25, of Bayonne, was found guilty of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder but acquitted of all other charges in the indictment.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on May 21, 2021, near Crescent Avenue and Brinkerhoff Street. Responding Jersey City Police officers found six victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Jason Crutcher, 26, and Randolph Black Jr., 25, both of Jersey City, were pronounced dead at the scene. The other four victims sustained nonfatal injuries.

SENTENCING SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER

The State was represented at trial by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutors David Feldman and Daniel Gilbert.

Rios-Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on September 5.
