SCHENECTADY, NY — Nicholas Fiebka, a 21-year-old from Schenectady, has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the brutal murders of his mother, Alesia Wadsworth, 59, and her partner, William Horwedel, 61. The sentencing occurred in Schenectady County Court under Judge Matthew J. Sypniewski following the 2022 killings.
Prosecutors detailed that Fiebka used an illegally modified AK-47 to carry out the attack, firing 44 rounds within a mere 32 seconds upon entering the home from which he had been previously expelled.
The jury dismissed the defense’s claim of mental illness, convicting Fiebka in June on two counts of first-degree murder among other charges, including possession of a criminal weapon modification device.
During the sentencing, Assistant District Attorney Christina Tremante described Fiebka as “one of the most dangerous people” ever to appear in the courthouse. His final statement in court was, “I just want to say I’m a servant of God and they can paint whatever picture they want, but God knows who I really am.”
The case has drawn considerable attention due to the nature of the crime and the weapons involved, sparking discussions on public safety and legal accountability.
