Linden police urge residents to move vehicles, prepare for overnight snowfall

Linden, NJ – With a winter storm expected to bring several inches of snow overnight, the Linden Police Department is advising residents to move vehicles off roadways and limit travel as plowing operations begin.

Forecasters predict between two and four inches of snow for the area, with precipitation starting late Saturday night and continuing through midday Sunday. Temperatures are expected to remain at or below freezing, creating potentially icy conditions on untreated roads.

Plowing to begin overnight

Police said snow removal crews will begin operations during the overnight hours and warned that vehicles parked on restricted streets may be ticketed or towed. Residents are encouraged to move their cars tonight to help plows clear roads efficiently and ensure emergency access throughout the city.

Travel and safety reminders

Authorities are urging drivers to avoid travel if possible, and to reduce speed and allow extra time for travel if driving cannot be postponed. Residents are also encouraged to sign up for the city’s emergency alert system to receive timely updates and safety information.

Utility outages should be reported directly to service providers, including PSE&G, Elizabethtown Gas, New Jersey American Water, Comcast, and Verizon.
