Liquor store luck: $33K ticket sold in Patchogue

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — A winning TAKE 5 ticket worth $33,223 was sold in Suffolk County for the May 7 evening drawing, the New York Lottery announced Wednesday.

The top-prize ticket was purchased at Country Liquors, located at 1440 Montauk Highway in Patchogue. The winning numbers were selected during the 10:30 p.m. drawing of the TAKE 5 game, which draws numbers twice daily from a field of one through 39.

The prize adds to a growing list of TAKE 5 wins across Long Island, where players continue to claim top-tier rewards in both midday and evening drawings.

The identity of the winner has not been disclosed, and the ticket remains unclaimed as of Thursday. Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

Retailers that sell jackpot-winning tickets are eligible to receive a bonus commission from the New York Lottery.

TAKE 5 continues to deliver daily wins across New York

The TAKE 5 game remains one of the state’s most frequently played draw games, offering accessible prize levels and multiple drawings each day. Results are televised and posted online after the 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. draws.

The Patchogue winner joins a growing group of New Yorkers benefiting from recent winning streaks in TAKE 5 and other lottery draw games.

The New York Lottery, which contributed $3.8 billion to education in fiscal year 2023–2024, continues to invest in public school systems statewide through game-generated revenue.
