Little Egg Harbor man charged with weapons and drug offenses after police raid

LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A two-month investigation into narcotics distribution led to the arrest of a Little Egg Harbor Township man on numerous weapons and drug charges, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced Wednesday.

James Palmisano, 43, was taken into custody on January 3 after detectives executed a search warrant at Island Automotive, a business he allegedly used to store and distribute methamphetamine. Authorities seized firearms, drugs, and explosive devices during the raid.

Investigators recovered two sawed-off 12-gauge shotguns, a .22 caliber rifle, a flintlock pistol, approximately 19 vials of suspected steroids, methamphetamine, hollow point bullets, BB guns, and drug paraphernalia. Two suspected explosive devices were also found, prompting a response from the New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad.

Palmisano faces multiple charges, including possession of weapons for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of firearms, possession of prohibited weapons and devices, and drug possession. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending trial.
