Valley Stream convenience store sells winning $50K Powerball ticket
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Long Island lottery player is celebrating a $50,000 Powerball prize after a winning ticket was sold at a Valley Stream convenience store, according to New York Lottery officials.
The third-prize-winning ticket was sold for the May 11 Powerball drawing at Mahavir Convenience, located at 779 West Merrick Road in Valley Stream.
Lottery officials said the ticket matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball to secure the $50K payout.
Powerball drawings are broadcast every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Players select white ball numbers from one to 69, while the red Powerball number is chosen separately from one to 26.
The New York Lottery said proceeds from ticket sales continue supporting public education programs statewide.
