STAFFORD, Va. — A large law enforcement response is underway after a suspicious package was reported near Joy of Living Water Church on Richmond Highway, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the immediate area around the church has been evacuated while the investigation continues.
As part of the response, Route 1 has been closed between Tracey Street and Merryview Drive. Traffic is being detoured through Telegraph Road, and officials said the closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period.
