Deputies say Matthew Herbert Ireland left the Holiday Inn after being ordered off the property then made his way back through a wooded area
PRINCE FREDERICK, MD – A man ordered to stay away from a Prince Frederick hotel allegedly tried a different route back onto the property, walking through nearby woods before deputies found him there again and arrested him.
Calvert County deputies responded Aug. 25 to the Holiday Inn at 355 Merrimac Court for a report of a disorderly person.
The sheriff’s office identified the man as Matthew Herbert Ireland, 35, of Prince Frederick.
Deputies said Ireland had already been identified during several earlier calls for service that evening before he was located behind the hotel.
Management requested that Ireland be formally trespassed from the property.
Deputies advised him not to return, and Ireland initially left.
The sheriff’s office alleges Ireland later walked through a nearby wooded area and re-entered the hotel property despite the warning.
Ireland was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property.
The charge is an allegation and has not been proven in court.
