Man discovered dead in Laurel as cops seal off neighborhood

LAUREL, MD – A man was discovered dead in the early hours of Tuesday morning, prompting a suspicious death investigation on a residential street in Laurel.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Marton Street around 4:18 a.m., where they located the man’s body. The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear, and police have not released the victim’s identity.

Investigators said the body will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.

By sunrise, police tape sealed off the area as officers combed the scene for evidence. The neighborhood remained blocked off through the morning while the investigation continued.

Authorities have not indicated whether foul play is suspected but have classified the case as a “suspicious death” pending autopsy results.

No arrests have been announced, and no potential suspects or witnesses have been publicly identified.
