Man found stabbed to death New Year’s Eve inside Philadelphia apartment

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 59-year-old man was found dead in a Philadelphia apartment on Tuesday afternoon with multiple stab wounds, police said, as investigators work to uncover details surrounding the incident.

Officers were dispatched at 4:01 p.m. to the 9600 block of Bustleton Avenue in the city’s 7th District, where the victim, a Black male, was discovered in the kitchen with an estimated 15 to 20 stab wounds.

Philadelphia Fire Department’s Medic 6 pronounced the man deceased at 3:52 p.m., prior to officers arriving on the scene. Authorities said no weapon was recovered, and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing, with detectives from the Homicide Unit seeking to determine a motive and identify suspects. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
